I have owned this motorcycle for 16 years. It is in exceptional condition. There are some very minor scratches on the tank from a tank bag (pictured as best I could), ut the bike otherwise has no cosmetic flaws. No mechanical issues. Always garage kept. It has been maintained with religious fervor, ith most service records available from one of the most respected Honda dealerships in the Midwest. I did the oil changes myself, lways with Honda factory oil and Honda filters. Less than 500 miles ago, had a complete maintenance done, ith all new fluids, ilters, alve inspection/adjustment plus a new battery and new tires. This was in preparation for a 5,000 mile tour that was never done--the bike is completely plug-and-play, eady to circumnavigate the United States and beyond.
The bike has anti-lock brakes, raction control and adjustable suspension. It has a Throttlemeister throttle lock and heated grips, lthough the throttle side heated grip no longer heats. It comes with both factory and Corbin seat. Some of the stitching on the Corbin is coming loose, ut it should be good for a season or two before recovering is needed. It also comes with a 50-liter (aka huge) top case by Givi, ith a rack on the top case. The bike has sufficient cargo space, nd power, or two-up touring. The V4 motor is bullet proof and properly considered one of the finest power plants ever produced by Honda.
The ST1100 is a top-notch sport touring bike that has received accolades from none other than Sonny Barger, founding member of the Hells Angels. In his 2000 autobiography, arger singled out the ST1100 and bemoaned the fact that he couldn't ride one because Angels must ride Harleys:
"If I could, would seriously consider riding a Honda ST1100 or a BMW. We really missed the boat by not switching over to the Japanese models when they began building bigger bikes. I'll usually say "(Expletive) Harley-Davidson. You can buy an ST1100 and the (expletive) will do 110 miles per hour right from the factory all day long." -- Hell's Angel, he Life and Times of Sonny Barger and the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club
Would prefer local pickup but am willing to work with buyers on shipping.
