1984 HONDA VT500 ASCOT MOTORCYCLE

Up for sale is a 1984 Honda VT500 Ascot in decent running condition, ut in need of expert tuning. All functions work well with the exception of the tachometer, hich makes a loud whirring noise as rpm's go above 3000 rpm when the weather is cold. I have it disconnected currently. The exhaust system has been customized to eliminate the heavy central chamber and uses a less restrictive muffler. It sounds good and has no exhaust leaks. The engine, rake, ights, ransmission, haft drive, nd controls all work as they should. Rear tire is new, ront is 50% gone. It does not burn oil and leaks maybe a drop a month. This bike has been very reliable and has never left me stranded. It has a low seat height and would be a good bike for a shorter person. It gets 60 mpg around town. The paint is not great. The tank has had a magnetic tank bag on it for years, aking the paint scratchy on top. The tank bag is included. Elsewhere, he paint is not too bad, ut not very glossy. The registration was just renewed this month. The bike runs well almost all the time,but has a tuning issue. During the engine warm up period on warmer days, he engine will sometimes act as if there is fuel starvation. On cold days, he problem doesn't happen. Once warmed up, he engine always runs fine, ut when the problem crops up, oth cylinders will quit at partial throttle while riding. Idle and full throttle do not cut out, nly when at partial throttle. When riding, his requires going to full throttle for a few seconds till the cylinders come back. Once warmed up, verything is back to normal. This usually takes about 3 to 5 minutes riding time. This may be easy to fix, ut I wasn't able to find the problem.
