Up for grabs is my 1976 Honda CB750K?76 750 Four
A quick note before we begin.
Many folks watch CB750 motorcycles and related items on a regular basis. If that sounds like you. then perhaps you will recognize this listing. It was on eBay a few weeks ago. The winning bidder - did NOT fulfill his obligation to buy the bike. I guess this happens from time to time. There is nothing more I can do except re-list the bike. So without further delay. here we go again!
Unlike most people. I'm not going to simply copy/paste some manufacturer?s generic description from back in the day. Instead I thought we should talk about THIS BIKE on a personal level. Now work with me here. There's a lot of material to cover and you need to know this stuff so you can make an informed decision. Hey! You there in the back! Pay attention! You think you?re here to take a nap?
Now I want you to be in tip top mental form as you read along. so maybe you should go take a bathroom break now. While you?re at it. perhaps mix yourself a Jack and Coke or grab a cold one from the fridge on the way back. Or just brew up a fresh coffee ? it?s up to you. It?s important that we all get comfortable before we settle in. Go ahead. take your time. I?ll wait?¦
Ah?¦where do I begin? Back in the early seventies I was (perhaps much like you) just a kid getting out of high school. And I had a 1970 Honda CB750. Man I was KING of bike night in those days. Well that bike was sold. marriage came along. then kids and work and a mortgage. But thoughts of that CB750 were always with me. Eventually I began to hunt for an old CB750. One thing led to another and before long I had collected one of each year from 1969 to 1978. But recently I have been forced to start selling off my Honda CB750 collection. You will find out why as you read along. I have sold most all of my collection. except for three. The K6 is now the one on the auction block. Once it goes I?ll only have two left.
I?ll let the pictures tell most of the story about this bike. It?s a bike that you don?t see in this condition all too often. If you are knowledgeable about 750?s you?ll know that 1976 is the LAST year the bikes were manufactured in the original configuration. In 1977 Honda began to change a lot on the 750 line. This bike is pretty much in showroom condition ? as showroom as you?ll find for a bike almost 40 years old. This machine has been stored INDOORS in AIR CONDITIONING in my living room for the past decade or more. I have owned this bike since 2002.
Frame: CB750-2564382
Engine: CB750E-2454007
Paint Color: Candy Antares Red
Mileage: 13. 22 Original Miles
The bike has a brand new battery. And not some Wal-Mart special. It?s a brand new sealed battery from Scorpion. The oil and filter have less than 100 miles on them. The bike runs just fine. In fact ? it runs just like it did in 1976. This is definitely not a bike offered for sale with the promise that it ??ran when I stored it 12 years ago!?? This bike runs perfectly right now. Brakes. lights. shifting. the works. It?s all good. REALLY GOOD. The tires are close to new. They are Dunlop 491?s. Additionally ? the bike has a FULL SET OF NEW PIPES! Yes proper Honda Factory parts ? HM341?s. ALSO ? This bike has a NEW SEAT! Again ? proper factory seat from Honda. Like I said. you check out the pictures closely to see the condition. There is even some of that orange paint here and there where bolts have never even been touched. Some of the original decals/stickers are on the bike as well.
Is there anything wrong with the bike? One of the rear turn signals has a dent/crease in it. A bump from moving into or out of the house. If every bike has a flaw ? this is an easy flaw to tend too. I took a picture of the taillight for you to see. Simply live with it or change it out for a new one. Up to you. Also on the tank is this hint of a wave or in/out flaw for lack of a better word. I tried to get it to show on a picture but it does not show. It is under one of the gold stripes. I think it is a manufacturing flaw in the tank from when it was made. I say this because the clear coat it not cracked or chipped or anything. I think this little indentation was in the tank BEFORE it was painted. I doubt you would even notice it if I had not drawn your attention to it. But in keeping with my honestly policy of giving you a FULL description ? well there you have it. This is truly a rare LOW MILEAGE bike with just 13. 22 original miles.
??So if the bike is so great ? and you love CB750?s ? then why are you selling it£? Perhaps that is the question on the tip of your tongue? The answer is a sad one. to be sure. In some motorcycle circles I am well known and this bike is a known item as well. To make a long story short. I am selling my bike collection because I was recently in a horrific motorcycle accident and lost my leg. Along with this new one legged life has come some serious financial struggles ? so the 750?s are on the auction block. Like I said above. I have sold all but three now. Likely to follow will be my other bikes. one by one. Sadly. I must be realistic and see my future for what it now really is.
Anyhow ? back to the bike. I have the title in hand ready to go. No liens or any of that nonsense to deal with. I will include a proper 1976 owner?s manual. If you have a question or two - just send me an e-mail. I'll fire a reply back to you right away. I have not been very active on eBay for some time since I got hurt. but you will see that my older E Bay positive feedback is 100%. You will also see where I have positive feedback from the recent sale of my Sandcast 750. Please KNOW that you are dealing with an honest and decent person.
Another little afterthought. 2019 is only a few years away. That will be the 50th anniversary of this bike. Yes 50 years since the first CB750?s rolled off the line! Can you imagine the values in 2019? Only time will tell ? but I wish I was not forced to sell ? as I think the bikes will skyrocket in value in 2019. Especially the ones in stock showroom condition.
Now. after you win the auction you will have to pay for the bike. I want $500 deposit within 48 hours of the ending of the auction. This can be via PayPal. The rest of the money BEFORE the bike leaves my driveway. Pay the balance with certified bank draft only or cash if local. That draft will CLEAR my bank BEFORE the bike is turned over to you. I'm a nice guy and all - and I'm sure you are too - but don't even bother bidding or sending me e-mails if you don't have the cash. This should go without saying - but here it is anyways - the bike is sold as is. where is. and there is no warranty. I have the title on hand. You are welcome to pick up the bike locally or have it shipped at your expense. I will help at this end as I can ? but arranging the shipping and the cost is the buyer?s responsibility.
Now about the price?¦ I have listed the bike with an opening bid of $99. 00. Needless to say there is a reserve. It is a serious. yet realistic reserve. I won?t divulge the reserve amount during the auction. But I will give you some good clues below. Here are examples of comparable bikes that have sold recently. I do not know if these links will work for you or not ? so each link has a price above it to show you what area the reserve is in?¦.

The reserve is based on the above prices BUT is LOWER than the average of these examples. I feel that I am being extremely fair as far as the reserve goes for a bike in this condition. If you know the shape most 750?s are sold in ? you?ll know the condition of this K6 well above average. So?¦. fellow Honda Fans - Let the bidding begin!
Bid. buy. win?¦. collect it or ride it?¦up to you. But EVERYWHERE you go on this bike?¦. you will be turning heads at EVERY corner. Good luck with your bids?¦. ride safe and ride often!
