Reluctant sale of an appreciating classic which I have renovated over the last 18 months. it benefits from a brand new engine which I have done 85 miles (may go up)on to ensure all is fine - its a 156fmi engine which has electric start. electronic ignition and the bike has been converted to 12v. other new parts have been :
front and rear tyres - front and rear brake shoes - speedo cable - clutch cable - front brake cable - horn - cdi unit - starter relay - coil lead and plug cap - plug - rectifier - battery - performance cone air filter - carb - flasher relay - front and rear indicators - mirrors - chain - rear light assembly - number plate - seat foam - seat recovered - handle bar grips - kill/starter switch.
the bike was completely stripped when I had it. so the frame has been painted along with all the panels and tank - that had to be chemically cleaned and sealed internally. the headlight surround has been rechromed professionally. I have not done anything with the wheels apart from wash them. the speedo shows around 25k but I think its irrelevant. the bike needed to be registered so I am the first owner on the V5 as it was done this year. that involvement with hmrc and dvla took months and months. I have a letter from Honda confirming it was made in 1976 and this has been verified by the dvla.
As you can see from the photo's its a real eye catcher. turns heads everywhere you go. The bike does have its faults. the paintwork isn't quite show standard. the panel lights for high beam and indicator have not yet been wired up (I forgot). the rev counter isn't connected - its the original which relies on a cable drive. this engine gives an electronic output. if it doesn't sell I will convert the rev counter into the same housing and connect one up. the rear footpegs have not been refitted along with the tool holder - I will give these to the buyer.
