Honda CBX 750 1987 for spares or repair

For sale one partially stripped down CBX 750 the first pic shows what it looked like together. It is now a rolling chassis with the lower half or the engine still in the frame as per the picture. The previous owner was my Dad. It's a nice bike and was running perfectly when I bought it and the engine has no cam chain rattle. which is the normal fault with these. Unfortunately. after a few weeks riding home from work the engine started chucking out a lot of smoke and bogging down. I think the rings may have gone. I started to strip it down and found 2 of the barrel studs had rusted into the barrel. see picture. I couldn't get the barrel off as a result and have not been able to repair it. Someone else may well have the tools/knowledge to do this. but. I have bought another commuter and just need the space back now. One of the front indicators is broken where It fell off the stand when working on it. It's a great looking bike and was surprisingly quick. There are a couple of small cracks on the fairing and the normal scratches and wear and tear you'd expect on a bike of this age. All of the parts are there as per the photos and include a full Motad neta Stainless exhaust system which is in very good condition and looks lovely when clean. This would be ideal as a cheap project bike. Parts are plentyful and there are other engines on ebay. Alternatively. if you already have one of these it would make a great spares bike to keep your one running cheaply. Log book is in my name and is with the bike. It is currently sorn. The bike was made in 1987 was previously registered overseas and was first registered In the UK in 1990. Obviously you can't ride this away. but. it is a rolling chassis. so. can be trailered or put in a van. I'll be happy to answer any questions you have or take further photos if needed.
