Description

Here for sale is my wife's CB250N Superdream. The bike has been used to commute to work for the last two years and has been utterly reliable during our ownership. There are just 3 previous owners and only 14295 miles showing. As the bike had been in storage for 6 years when we purchased it the following work was carried out. The carburettors were removed. striped and ultrasonically cleaned. The brakes were stripped. cleaned and new pads were fitted. I also fitted a braided hose line to the front brake and changed the master cylinder seals before refilling with new brake fluid. A full engine service was carried out including valve checks. carburettor balancing. cam & balancer chain checks. Very little work has been required for day to day running of the bike other than normal servicing. The bike had new oil and a filter a couple of  weeks ago. A new battery was fitted in March and a new front tyre (Metzeler) was fitted a couple of weeks ago ready for the MOT which was passed without any advisories. As far as condition goes. everything works okay. The engine starts well. with no leaks. rattles etc. The charging system is fine. The clutch neither slips nor grabs and all 6 gears engage correctly. The brakes work better than when new. helped no doubt by the braided brake line. The exhaust system looks original but isn't. the balancer box is a patten part and the silencers are from Brituro. They seem a bit louder than the originals but not annoyingly so. There is an Oxford charging socket fitted.  The condition of the cosmetics are as to be expected given that the bike is 34 years old. There is a small dent in the left side of the tank and some patches of rust here and there. It could do with a respray. The chrome is worn here and there and there is some rust near the mounting bracket on the front mudguard. Some paint has been worn away from the plastic cowl behind the seat where a carrier used to be fitted. The seat base is known to rot through on these bikes but this one is still solid and the seat cover is good. A tool kit is still present under the seat. The bike has been used in all weathers during our ownership (the wife also has a 400/4 which never sees rain). I used to regularly coat the Superdream in ACF50 which has insured that the bike's cosmetics are much the same as they were when we got it. The bike is Taxed until the end of the month & MOT'ed until 25th October 2015. I will also include a Haynes workshop manual with the bike.
