1978 Honda CX500

Up for sale is a used 1978 Honda CX500 with a clean title and approx. $18K miles.   The motorcycle currently does not run although I have been able to fire it up for a second or so but it will not stay running.   Since it does not run. I am selling "AS IS" as a project bike or for parts.   I am not a mechanic and don't know what is wrong with it or have the time to figure it out.  

There is some rust on the frame and chromes look good for the age (they do show some signs of age but this is normal for the age of bike).   The gas tank and side covers do have some scuffs and scratches but as far as I can see the inside of the tank looks good.   The seat seams original and is dusty but it is in great shape with no cuts or scrapes on the leather (not sure what material it actually is).

To the best of my knowledge the bike is complete (even comes with original tools) with the exception of the battery (does not come with a battery).   All the wiring is there but I did disconnect some of the lights so you will need to connect everything up.   All lights were working before I disconnected them.

As expected. the bike will need some work and a thorough check before it is road ready since it has not been ridden in many years.

Buyer must arrange pick up as I will not ship.   Depending on the time. I can help load if you send someone to pick it up.   I am located in Central Michigan.

Again. just to be clear. This is a non-running motorcycle that is being sold as is as a parts bike or project bike so please bid accordingly.   I am more than willing to answer any questions or take pictures of any specific parts on the bike.
