I have decided to see if there is any interest in my 1970 Honda CT Trail 70. I have owned the bike for a little over a year and I have enjoyed every single minute of it. The lil bike starts on the first or second kick every time. it is the automatic. so it shifts very easy through all three gears. the hand brakes are a little soft. they might need some adjustment. but since I just ride it when I'm in a mood. I never really worry about it. and with me at 320lbs. the bike does a pretty good job of stopping with me on it. The rear foot brake works well. The bike will go 35 mph on the street with me on it. it takes it a little while to get there. I would not get out in traffic on it. but around the car shows. through the neighborhood or the occasional trip to the parts store is just a blast! There is no bad rust on the frame. there is surface rust as you can see in the pictures. but the bike is solid. The wheels where taken apart and powder coated. the tires and tubes were replaced just before I bought it. The carb was rebuilt just before I bought it. the carb does work well. but if I drive it wide open for a mile or so. it does have an issue with the needle and seat acting up sometimes. I just have to pull over. tap on the carb with my handy lil wrench tool and poof. the bike starts back up and no issues for the rest of the ride. It does puff smoke when it is cold. but after you go for a ride. it stops once it warms up. The motor has not been apart as far as I know and I don't think it is more than just being a 40+ year old motor. All of the lights work. horn works. it is street legal and it is titled and registered in Florida. The paint is cracked and faded. the seat has been recoverd and all of the cables were replaced before I bought the bike. The chrome has some pitting and the exhaust is a little loud. but it works fine. The throttle works very well and there is no evidence of the bike ever being dropped hard or wrecked at any time. I'm just seeing if I want to sel lthe bike or not because I could use the money to finish up another project. but to be honest. I'm not in a real big hurry to sell it. I am open to shipping the bike at the winning bidders expense and I would consider delivering the bike within a 125 mile radius of Jacksonville. Florida. I have a video of the bike running and will do my best to post it here on the listing. IF I cannot post it. I will be glad to email a link to you. http://youtu. be/Y-awsSgweCA
On Oct-16-14 at 13:39:40 PDT. seller added the following information:I appreciate all of the bids on my bike. and my other project is in need of some cash sooner than I thought. so with the bidding already close to my reserve I hope one of you will be a little more aggressive and bring the bidding up just a bit more and the bike will be yours because you guys are getting pretty close to my reserve and I am thinking it might be the right time to sell. Also. with this weekend being Biketoberfest. I might get tempted to take the little bike down to Main Street on Friday and see what kind of action I can get there. So keep the bids coming. it really is a neat little bike that does not need to be restored. but is a great candidate for a restoration if that is what you want.
By the way. the bike is being auctioned off with no warranty. it is sold as is and I do have it listed locally for sale as well. If somebody wants to hit the BUY IT NOW price of $1295. 00. I would be willing to deliver the bike with-in a 100 mile radius of Jacksonville for that price. Also published at eBay.com
