Description

For sale is my beloved Honda CG125 Cafe Racer. This bike started off as a school project for restoration but later I decided that I wanted to convert it into a cafe racer. PICTURES BELOWI have owned this bike for approximately 12 months. during which time I have restored the bike (Bike currently SORN). When I received the bike it was in good to average condition overall. the engine and gearbox have been completely bulletproof since purchased (Honda reliability). I completely stripped the bike down to the frame and took all of the paint and rust off the frame and had the frame resprayed in black. I cleaned the engine and gave it a full respray in black and silver. Front forks have also been sprayed in the same silver as the engine casing. One of the main things I would like to exaggerate about this bike is how specific and unique it is. I have not found another one on eBay that is anything like this one. The bike has several features that I feel make it very special and individual. some of these things are:REAL SES 27mm clip on handlebars. these clip ons are very rare to find. especially in the 27mm diameter and give the bike a perfect cafe racer style riding position. NEW Honda monkey bike headlight with integral speedometer and ignition- looks very sleek when riding and makes for a very clean simplistic dash. Cafe racer style frame without battery. battery has been enclosed securely into the fibreglass seat. One of a kind bespoke made fibreglass tail piece with custom vinyl seat. this is my favourite thing about the bike as it looks fantastic. It was also the biggest project of the bike. this was because I wanted to make sure that the seat matched the tank of the bike seamlessly and was proportionally correct with the rest of the bike. The seat was purchased from caferacerseats. co. uk of which I then extended the front to match the tank shape.  Seat and tank have both been resprayed excellently in a beautiful bright red. which looks fantastic along with the black frame and engine.  Custom slip on cafe racer style end can. makes the bike quite loud for a 125. sounds absolutely lovely and will pass MOT's without an advisory! The bike comes with 12 months MOT with only one advisory; 'slight surface rust to forks'. This is barely noticeable and very minimal; located at the top of the forks so will not be a problem at all.  Speedometer currently reads 9 kilometres. this has changed since I installed the new front headlight unit. However the bike has already done 71762 miles according to the most recent previous MOT which was in 2013. The bike will be sold with no tax as is currently SORN. I have kept the bike inside for the majority of the restoration. since I have owned it I have always kept it under cover somewhere very dry (like my back room) and have always kept a cover over it. Below are the good and bad things about the bike: Good things:Custom one of a kind seatRare SES Clip on handlebarsHonda monkey bike headlight with integral ignition and speedometerNew black headlight mountsCustom slip on cafe racer style end canBeautiful red respray on tank and seatNew carburettorNew conical air filterResprayed silver front forks and engine casingResprayed frame in blackNew battery. hidden under seat to give it a minimalist cafe racer style lookNew spark plugCentre stand has been cut off to shed weightNew exhaust gasketExhaust downpipe coated in cermacoatNew headstock bearingsCustom tail tidy painted in blackLED rear tail light. looks very neat tucked up under the seat. 'CG' Number plateComes with both front and rear mudguard + original rear tail lightRuns like a dream and sounds greatV5 PresentTwo keys12 Months MOTTyres have good tread and good gripBike has been kept in my back room for the majority of the restorationBad things:Small scratch on side of exhaustPaint on engine has smudged a little bitSection of frame closest to the back of the engine has creased up slightlyI have taken the bike down the road twice and is very comfortable to ride with the clip ons and the cafe racer seat. The bike idles very nicely. revs cleanly and always starts first or second kick. It is extremely genuine and is a joy to ride. This would be a perfect little bike for anyone who wants a 'modern classic' to look cool on in the summer going out for a cruise. or anyone who wants to have a cooler 125 than their mates! The reserve is set at a price where I will be able to cover my costs for converting the bike to a cafe racer. so please consider this when buying. This is not a cheap half ass 'cafe racer style' CG you sometimes come across on eBay. Viewings are more than welcome. please contact me on 07415461038 (Ross)Bike will be sold as seen.
