hONDA CB250N SUPERDREAM.

This tidy Honda CB250N Superdream was bought 3 months ago for a friend who has a debilitating illness and can no longer handle his 1000cc machine. I intended just giving it a tidy up but decided that it needed more than that to be safe and reliable for him. The brakes were stripped and new pads with a new master cylinder were fitted. The swinging arm was removed. blasted and a small crack (common on this model !) was found in the web. this was welded and the arm resprayed. The underseat mudguard was removed and blasted/repainted. I bought a new Varta battery and new chain. from David Silver Spares. The centre stand was removed. blasted/repainted as was the side stand. The Carbs were removed. Ultrasonically cleaned and new float valves fitted. It went for an mot and passed with an advisory note that it was "smokey" so I stripped the engine and fitted new rings. reground in the valves and put new valve seals in the head. The previous owner had owned the bike for many years and every few years spent loads on it. I have all the invoices. His last effort towards restoring it was the preparation of the tank. side panels and seat base which were professionally sprayed in gloss black. He also fitted a new seat at the same time. After that the bike has never been on the road. At some point it has had new silencers and pipes but due to standing these have some slight rusting. however they are still sound. The tyres are both good. The mileage shown on the clock seems to be correct  judging by the past mot's at just over 25. 00. The only fault I can find is that the speedo whines and could do with restoring or replacing. I haven't done this as it reads the correct mileage. They can be found on Ebay for a few pounds. Sadly. just after I delivered the bike to him. my friend was told by his consultant oncologist that he cannot ride a motorcycle anymore so he asked if I would fetch it back and sell it. The cost of the bike and its repairs/replacement parts is over £700 so I would like to get a decent price for it.   It can be inspected in Sutton on Sea. Lincolnshire and even though I could deliver up to 40 miles radius.
