1985 HONDA VF500 SPARES OR REPAIR PROJECT

 I bought this VF500 to build a cafe racer. I chose one these because they are small light weight and handle great along with the fact that the V4 engines sound awesome when they have four megaphones fitted. But that's about as far as I've got just thinking about doing it! First of all lets make no mistake this bike will need a lot of work I would describe the condition as tatty but that didn't bother me because I had plans for it but please bear this in mind. When I bought the bike it was a none runner I've since cleaned the carbs and got it fired up. The original battery has completely had it so to start it I use a jump battery. It runs and revs well at high rpm but at low speed the engine is erratic so the carbs will need cleaning again. You will notice in the photos that the clutch lever is broken and seat is missing also the fuel tap. Inside of the tank looks good but I did have to drill out the cap lock. I have let the bike run for a while and its charging fine and doesn't overheat although there is a tiny leak from the rad and I do mean tiny and the front tire is flat due to the valve being missing also the fork seals are leaking but the tubes look good. I'm still waiting to get the logbook from the previous owner but that doesn't seem very likely now so the buyer will have to apply for it themselves but I will give a full receipt for the bike.
