This auction is for a 2001 Honda XR 400. It has had only 2 owners and is in extremely good condition. I am the second owner and have the original owners manual. Certificate of Origin and all paperwork from original owner and service work.  I just recently had it serviced to have the carburetor cleaned. a new air filter. and the oil changed. Both the original owner and myself bought this with the intention of doing a lot of off road riding. Neither one of us accomplished that goal. Even though it is a 2001. this bike has very low hours on it. I had the rear sprocket changed to a larger size for more torque and lower end response. It comes with an  new set of extra tires. a motocross stand. and an aluminum trailer hitch motorcycle carrier with ramp. Includes original owners manual and receipts from all work.

I shot a Video to accompany this ebay ad. The video was shot using a Flip camera mounted on the handlebars. The video is jittery. but the full sound of the engine running perfectly through the whole test ride and then idling smoothly afterward is very clear.

The rider is 6 ft 6 inches tall and 335 pounds. The bike had no problems pulling strong and after warm up. it could pull the front end off the ground with no problems. as shown a couple of times in the video. This bike is in perfect running condition with very low hours on it.

This bike has never been registered for street use and has a Manufacturers Certificate of Origin only.  The certificate of origin shows a lien on it. but there is no active lien. The company that originally financed it to the original owner went out of business. I checked the VIN Number with the DMV and with a VIN checking service both when I bought it and again before selling it. It comes back clean with no liens or other issues. I have the VIN report available.

The DMV in Missouri said that if someone wanted to get it made street legal. they could do a street legal conversion on it. get it inspected by the hi-way patrol as a converted dirt bike. then they could get it  titled as a conversion. The only requirement for a converted dirt bike title is to pass the hi-way patrol inspection and have a bill of sale. Neither I or the original owner ever intended to use it as a street legal bike. but it could be possible to convert at least in the state of Missouri. If you intend to convert it to a street legal bike. check your own state regulations.
