HONDA VFR800FI 2000 REG VERY LOW MILEAGE (ONLY 14,000 Miles)

Beautiful Blue VFR 800. only 14. 00 miles from new. one owner.

Never dropped. or damaged. all original apart from the Double Bubble Screen.

It has a Datatool EVO Immobiliser fitted. with two Remote Transmitters. and is also Data Tagged.

Supplied with the original rear seat hump. and passenger grab handles.

There is a Givi Wingrack fitted. and included is the Optimate III charger which I have been using to keep the battery charged.

I bought this as a Grey Import. nbsp;from a local dealer. new. in May 2000. As far as I know. the only difference is that there is no on/off switch for the lights (they are just on all the time). and the speedo and distance readings are marked in Kilometres. The headlight beam pattern is fine. as it is an Australian spec model. and they drive on the same side of the road as us.

I had an electronic gadget fitted. from new. which converted the readings to Miles/MPH. so. although the picture of the mileage shows 14. 00km. the bike has actually done 14. 00 miles. It also means that the speedo reads up to an impressive 280 MPH!

To my shame. it has only done 800 miles since July 2003! Garage stored. and basically run to the MOT and back. not much more than that. Some touching up to the paint on the wheels is needed. as shown in the photos.

I have taxed the bike for 6 months. from September the 1st. which will avoid the initial complications involved in buying with the new "No Tax Disc" system.

As I am trying to give as full a description. I should also mention that the last MOT. at 14. 02 miles. ad an Advisory Notice issued:-

Front Brake component worn but not seriously reduced in strength (3. 2. A1)

Rear Brake component worn but not seriously reduced in strength (3. 2. A1)

Front Tyre worn close to the legal limit (4. 1. 3(ii))

Rear Tyre worn close to the legal limit (4. 1. 3(ii))

Which is interesting. as previous MOTs. at 14. 65. and14. 88 miles (34 and 14 miles earlier) made no mention of it.

Difference of opinion. or change in requirements?

I thought that by taxing the bike from before the new "No Tax Disc" system came into force. that the bike would remain taxed for the full six months.

On looking at the new regs. it appears that once the change of ownership goes through. the bike has to re-taxed by the new owner.

Can anyone confirm or deny this please?
