Honda VT750 Shadow Custom taxed & tested, shaft drive

Honda's first entry into the cruiser market. Three valves per cylinder and hydraulic tappets. 6 speeds (top being overdrive with a dashboard light to indicate it). Twin front discs; rear is a drum brake. Cast alloy wheels with tubeless tyres. Shaft drive. Hydraulically operated clutch. (Honda was keen to outdo Harley-Ds on technology!) Note: this machine is the Japanese market version of the VT750c. the NV750 which differs from the American market version in its saddle style and lack of side reflectors on the alloy sissy bar. The machine is from the 1983 model year but appears to have been given a 1989 registration number when imported. Please note: while it runs well enough when started. CURRENTLY IT NEEDS A HILL START to get it going even when warm. Likely to be poor compression needing new piston rings (90psi and 110psi recorded front and rear cylinders when cold). Please therefore bring a trailer or van to take it home in. All 4 indicator stalks have perished and one indicator is non-standard. Tyres are both in good condition (rear under 1000 miles) and the two piece saddle is in good order too. Paintwork is fair. One side panel transfer is scuffed. Toolbox lid missing at the back of the pillion seat. Some corrosion and scratches as you would expect on a machine this age. but nothing structurally unsound. The exhaust system is Honda's.
