HONDA MT50S-J 1994

I bought this bike for My son in 2012 and restored it for use over six months. It was used by my son from June 2013 to June 2014 whilst he was 16. The bike is in sound mechanical order and is ideal for a first time rider who intends to move on to bigger bikes with gears.

I have spent over £700 on parts and upgrades on this bike since I bought it.

The engine was totally rebuilt with a new crankshaft. crank. main bearings and all gear bearings and seals by The Honda M Shop (Holland) and re-bore and piston kit from Grampian Motors (Liverpool). The bike has covered 4500 miles since the rebuild. it always starts first time and still sounds crisp.

When the engine was restored. carb parts designed for the European model were used to allow the engine to breath. a fast flow expansion chamber and upgraded tail pipe were fitted and the carb was re-jetted. The reeds. reed block and inlet manifold were replaced with upgraded parts as were the air filter and filter box hoses.   This has resulted in a top speed of just over 40mph. an improvement on the standard 30mph. The bike pulls well and runs smoothly. All upgrades were advised by the MT50 specialist Honda M Shop.

The Brakes. tyres and tubes have been renewed. The chain and sprockets replaced with gearing changed to suit the new engine spec.
