Here is a well maintained. low mile 1976 Honda CB550. The bike starts right up. drives and shift smoothly. I can not attempt to sell a bike and state it's a barn find( as many as do) when this one is not by any means. I bought this from the original owner. He stated this Honda has been used for longer rides and not for short in town transportation. He has a collection of bikes and this was one of his many that he took extreme care of. The bike is as close to a survivor as I have come across. Miles currently show 4203. The chrome is in great shape. Tires have no dry rot which most older bikes do to years of neglect. The points were replaced with a Prestolite Electronic Ignition. The rear sprocket is nylon. The original owner put these on his other Hondas. He stated he liked how quiet they are hence swapping them out. The tank does have a ding as highlighted in the pictures. The number one pipe does have a hole on the button side where the header and muffler meet. I could swap the one exhaust out but have maintained the originality of the machine. The side covers have no cracks. The forks have the factory coating still on them and are in the best shape that I have seen on any Honda that has not been restored. The seat lock was removed when the original owner installed a notorious King/Queen seat therefore it is missing. This is not a show bike but it would be very hard to find a survivor like this. The bike is listed locally so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Please look at all the pictures and if you have any questions please feel free to contact me. Winning bidder must pay a 500 deposit immediately upon the end auction with PayPal. If you have less then 50 ratings please contact me first prior to bidding. Any questions you may contact me at 414 339 4236. Nick Winning bidder will have to work out the shipping as well. Please do not use the eBay shipping price to determine total cost.

On Nov-01-14 at 08:26:54 PDT. seller added the following information:I was asked a few more questions. Here are the questions. Q: Any fluid leaks? A: As far as I am aware no. The frame and pipes were coated with oil to help protect from rust and oxidation. Underneath is pretty clean. There is oil near the sprocket cover but I am thinking it's due to the amount of oil that was put on the chain to preserve and maintain the condition. Enclosed are pics. Q: Any possibility of contacting the original owner about finding that seat lock? A: I have been in contact and the seat lock is gone. I am more then willing to include the King/Queen seat upon sale if the new owner would like. Q: All lights work properly? A: All the lights function properly. I was thinking of putting in an EP36 flasher to have the turn signals flash faster but will leave that to the previous owner. Q: With the newer electronic ignition. how well does it perform? A: There is no hesitation at all. Bike runs very well. Q: Any hesitation or intermittent firing of cylinders? A: No hesitation or intermittent firing at all. Q: When you park this bike after running do you have to turn the fuel petcock off to prevent flooding or fuel discharge? A: It may be a force of habit but I never leave the petcock on when not running. It will cause the bowls to stay full of gasoline and may cause issues upon start up such as crap ethanol gas to create condensation inside if the bike sits over the winter. The floats were never messed with as they are in factory spec. Q: Any problems whatsoever that needs immediate attention or something that needs repair other than the paint ding and chrome ding on front fender? A: I do not think so. These tires are older so it may be wise if this will be an everyday rider to replace with modern tires. Enclosed are stickies on the tank to highlight the ding and few scratches. I attempted to highlight the flaws which are minimal. Please look at the new pics as requested to highlight the imperfections. I am sure I could take pics to make it look showroom but I could not hide any imperfections due to integrity. Rather I would have the new owner appreciate the condition of this 39 year old vintage motorcyle.
