1997 HONDA CB 500 RED SPARES/REPAIR.

Before Bidding you MUSTread this description. I am selling my CB500 for spares/repairs. or maybe a restoration project. I've owned it since 2007. and it has never let me down. It needs a lot of tlc. as I've ridden it in most weathers. although I didn't ride it in the Winter as my previous bike was ruined by the salt. Unfortunately. I slipped on some diesel on a roundabout and fell off the bike; I've now decided that it's time to call it a day. I wasn't injured. and so regard this as a lucky escape. Unfortunately. the exhaust. clutch casing. right hand side of the tank. rear footbrake pedal. headlamp casing and lens. and offside mirror were all damaged because of this. The front indicators are hanging off. but they were cheap ebay parts that were due for replacement. I have some new ones awaiting fitting included in the sale; they are not OEM parts. The headlamp cowling has suffered. resulting in a dent near to the lens which has deflected it to the offside. (May need renewing. )It has covered nearly 93. 00 miles; I had changed the oil/filter at 92. 00 miles. and have done so regularly throughout my ownership. MOT is due at April 1st 2015. The tank will need a respray. mainly because I used a magnetic tank bag for work. and it has slowly ruined the paint. (See photos; looks like crocodile skin now. )The engine doesn't emit any smoke when either cold or hot. but makes a ticking sound when cold until it has reached operating temperature; it sounds healthy then. The bike is red; it was a silver/grey colour when I bought it but decided to respray it; the V5 has been amended to reflect this change. The speedometer. rev counter and backlights. temperature gauge. and warning lights all work fine; as does the switchgear on the handlebars. Cash on collection please.
