honda cr250- 2000

2000 Honda cr250. One of their best 2 strokes with great power throughout the rev range. I bought this bike as a project nearly 3 years ago as I had one when they were new and know how good they are. Its done less than 30hrs since then- most around our fields and only been on a track 4 times. The previous owner had just spent ??650 on the engine and suspension but run out of cash and lost interest . Since owning it I have fitted a few parts from a 2001  cr250 - mikuni carb / reed valve /air boot as the 2000 keihin carb was corroded and manky. I have also replaced all the shock link and swing arm bearings with Honda parts and fitted a new clutch basket. inner hub and Honda clutch kit plus lots of other bits and pieces that were missing / worn . I have recently fitted a new Honda top end and boyesen reeds with about 8hrs use since. The bike works as it should  and is fast but it does have some signs of use but there are no leaks and nothing is missing or worn out. It has a dep pipe and silencer. renthal bars/sprocket and regina chain. The tyres are dunlops and in very good condition. the oil has been changed regularly and bearings greased. The only bad points are the pipe has a few dings on the underside. there is a tiny bit of vertical ( up and down) play in the back end -probably shock bearing but this happens after a short time on any bike. he gold outer fork tubes have some wear marks from cables rubbing and the head has a few marks in the combustion area but it doesn't affect the power and it hasn't caused a problem- I didn't know this until  I changed the piston this year but the cylinder is fine.  This bike can be used immediately as it stands and will run with newer bikes easily.
