1984 Honda GL1200 Aspencade (spares or repair)

Up for sale is my 1984 GL1200 Aspencade. It would be fair to say it has seen better days. It has been a workhorse for me and has rarely let me down. I am selling it as I have been made redundant and bought a Harley Road King.

She went through the last MOT without any advisories but since the rear shock on the offside has blown a seal and the oil has leaked out. Also the speedo has stopped working which I believe is a wiring problem as it is intermittent and works every now and then.

When I bought it it had chrome studs all over it. These went rusty over the winter so I removed them ad fill the holes with the intention of doing a respray this winter but never got round to it. The offside saddle bag lid was stolen off it(search me as to why!) Also the bottom casing of the topbox where the offside hinge mounts has snapped. which again I never got round to repair/replace.

She had a new stator and starter clutch fitted approx. 3 months ago. but could do with a new battery. She also has a full Stainless Steel Motad system fitted. I think the N/S rear piston has a sticking oil ring as it smokes when first starting but his clears after a few minutes running.

The seat cover has been renewed

There is an aftermarket stereo grafted in to her but I didn't use it much as it seems to constantly draw from the battery. it does work though and plays through all speakers. Its just disconnected at the moment.

Front tire will need changing but rear has bags of life left

I have tried to be as honest as possible about the bike. It may do someone as a winter hack after a bit of work or be a winter restore project for someone. I have priced it at a starting price of ??500 to reflect its condition
