Offering an exceptionally clean and well maintained 2004 Honda CR85RB Big Wheel Expert Motocross bike. I purchased this bike this past summer (2014) for my son. who was a beginning rider. Although a 2004. when I bought the bike. it was as new as when it left the showroom floor. It was completely original (except for the Renthal handlebar setup). had barely been ridden and clearly never saw any mud. Reportedly. the previous owner?ˆ™s son rode it around in the grass of their back yard a few times and then lost interest. On the sides of the frame where your riding boots normally rub. the paint had no visible wear. The bike was brand new.
Since then. my son has ridden the bike on a small track that I built in my back yard for a single season. It still has never seen any mud. Nevertheless. he quickly outgrew the bike and now it?ˆ™s time to move on to something bigger.
The CR85 Big Wheel is a full-blown motocross bike. only in a smaller package. The power is awesome and the suspension is great. The fork oil and seals have been changed. along with new Factory Connection springs (this summer). The rear shock seals and oil have been changed as well. The top end was professionally done about 20 hours ago with a new Wiseco piston and ring. The jug has a cast iron sleeved cylinder (original bore diameter). as opposed to the Nickasil alloy generally found in these bikes. The crank bearings are tight and have a long way to go before they?ˆ™ll need any service. I installed a set of Boysen Reeds and a carburetor spacer kit to help improve the bottom end. The exhaust has been upgraded with a Fastech Racing Manifold that uses o-rings. as opposed to the oem formed steel sleeve/gasket. This eliminated the seepage that?ˆ™s inherent to the stock setup. It also has a new Pro Circuit Platinum pipe and silencer setup that improved the performance from the mid to upper range. The front tire is still the original - and both front and back are at about 80%. The sprockets have been upgraded. along with a quality Renthal O-Ring chain. Other upgrades include an oversized Mishimoto radiator and silicone hoses. The Twin-Air air filter was cleaned and oiled regularly. along with the gear oil (Lucas Synthetic). We only ran premium gasoline with Lucas semi-synthetic pre-mix at 40%.
You?ˆ™d be hard pressed to find a cleaner CR85. and one that has never been raced. beaten and continually crashed. Nothing on this bike has been hacked. botched. ?ˆ?Mickey-Moused?ˆ? or otherwise. It?ˆ™s clean. solid and ready to go. I?ˆ™d estimate about 50 hours of total riding time. It still has all of the original plastic and even the factory decals and labeling throughout. It comes with all of the factory original parts. including the complete exhaust setup (like new). fork springs and the radiator (like new) and hoses.
