HONDA CBR 600 FW 1998 (Steelie or Steel Frame) Race or Track Bike + V5 + Race Spares + Manual + Complete Road Fairing and Parts!!

EVERYTHING YOU SEE IN THE PICTURES IS IN THIS SALE (except paddock stand).

Quite a rare chance to buy an excellent race/track bike with the option to convert easily into a road bike

Frame number (VIN) and Engine numbers are perfectly intact and tally with V5 document in my name. A totally straight and genuine machine. Currently SORN.

Only 21. 80 miles (mileage recorded on last MOT was 20. 19 on 4/11/2011) and I have nearly all the old MOT certificates with the mileage documented.

Bike was bought from a family member in 2012 in standard road trim. I built into a race bike to compete in Auto 66 and Derby Phoenix events. It would make an excellent track bike or steel-frame class race bike.

I have won several races on this bike. won one hill-climb and had several fastest laps in pre-injection and steel-frame class (results on request). Best laps are Cadwell 1:41. 18    Mallory 57. 34    Croft 1:35. 52    Donington (short) 1:18. 71

Bike specification:

Bike condition:

The bike is in generally very good condition for it's age. The bike performs and handles extremely well.  No major corrosion on frame. Obviously. it's a used race track bike so has usual scuffs and marks on it. I fell off it once at Mallory last year (slow low side into Edwinas corner). so there is some light damage to the (mainly upper part) of fairing. some gaffer tape on to secure cracks. some light scuffs. some bolt mounts missing. but in good usable condition and hasn't been a problem for over 12 months riding. Clutch cover is scratched. Tank is lightly dented in 2 places but nothing serious. Wheels have usual tyre lever marks but are totally straight and true. Frame and forks are totally straight. Some usual  light rust on swing arm.

Fairing & road parts condition:

All of the fairing parts are generally in very good condition. although they are 16 years old and do have some light marks on and are not pristine. None are badly damaged though. There are some light scuffs on the LHS side panel from a previous light low slide off. but mainly it's just cosmetic as there are no holes or cracks. I have cut out a small piece on the RHS tail section to accommodate a race can (before fitting the race fairing). Most of the other road bits are in very good clean condition The silencer has very light corrosion and light scuffs. the centre stand has some light rust. the horn is lightly dented. one of the indicators is lightly damaged on the stem (lens is fine). the LHS rider foot peg heel plate has been removed (but useable). the RHS rider footpeg rubber is missing. The tyres are a bit old but have do loads of tread. the rear is a Bridgestone and front is Continental ( I would strongly advise fitting new tyres if you are using the bike on the road).

Note: The bike stands on Pirelli Diablo tyres in the pictures. but these will be removed an replaced with Metzler Racetecs as per description.
