Honda CB400F0 1975 USA Model Mf'd 13/74 CB400F-1012050 for Restoration. Repairs or parts.

I bought this bike from D&K last month for ??999 with the intention of restoring it. however as we are hoping to move house in the next few months I have decided that having another bike spread across the garage in parts is not such a good idea. It was imported from the USA and will need an MOT Certificate and registering with the DVLA before use. A NOVA reference is provided to show that import duties and VAT have been paid. In many respects this bike is a better base for restoration than one I did last year!

The following parts are missing: Front mudguard stays. Speedo cable. H/Bar grips & throttle tube. Tachometer. Front brake caliper back plate and disc pad. Master cylinder. Side stand bracket and arm (bit of welding required). Chain guard.

The following parts are damaged: H/L Rim. R/H H/Bar switch. Throttle cables. Handle bars (not correct) and silencer are horrible and need throwing away. Rear indicators.

However. Fork tubes & seals appear in very good condition with no corrosion on the swept area. front indicators look like new. L/H H/Bar switch is good and will refurb. wheel rims and hubs are good. fuel tank is clean inside and all but rust free. Exhaust headers and collector box are solid and will clean up well ( I took them off to start cleaning and with a couple of hours work can look very nice). dents in one pipe and a couple of scratches. Tail light bracket chrome is good and rear mudguard has been refurbed. Rear dampers are aftermarket & appear good quality. Seal base is OK but cover is horrible. When connected to a decent battery (not included) the engine spins over with good compression and all the lights work except the rear indicators. I have not tried to start it.   I expect that the carbs will need stripping and cleaning as is usual.

Should have mentioned minor dents on right hand side of tank. I thought that they would show up in the photos but they do not. Bike is supplied with one key that fits Ignition/Steering and seat lock.
