1974 Honda CR125 M CR125 125 cc Motocross Bike AHRMA

Restored 1974 Honda CR125M ElsinoreI have decided to reduce my collection of 125cc racers so up for auction is my historic restored 1974 Honda CR125M from my private collection.   The 1974 Honda CR125M is considered by many as the true start of the pro motocross era.   It was considered the best bike of its time and changed the way the factories looked at motocross.   The bike was restored last year and has been on display indoors since the restoration with 0 miles.  In order to prepare the bike for sale. it was fueled. started. and ridden a short distance to make sure everything was in working order before the bike goes to the new owner.  I hope this bike will go to a collector for display and not be ridden or raced as it is a preserved piece of history.  This bike was extremely difficult to find as they rarely come up for sale in any condition.  I found a complete. but tired bike here in Georgia and started a one year project to correctly restore the bike.  Some of the bikes listed as restored are missing key stock components such as the air filter. exhaust pipe. correct rear shocks. carburetor. wheels. sprockets. correct handle bars. etc.  Original parts were rebuilt or refinished whenever possible. so you will see some minor blemishes (light pitting on chrome. minor nicks on wheels. etc. see pictures).  Where replacement parts were required. I used NOS or proper replacements parts from Honda.  As many original fasteners as possible were used and replacement bolts were the correctly marked bolts.  Engine was completely restored with a fresh bore. new piston. rings. bearings. seals. carb rebuild. clutch. etc.  Suspension was rebuilt with new seals front and rear and fresh fluid.   Bike comes with two sets of number plates.   The set on the bike for pictures are aftermarket replacements.   Purchaser will be provided with the restored original number plates as well (pictures provided).   The exhaust pipe is DG. but the original pipe will be provided.   The original pipe has many repairs and will need restoration (see pictures).     All other parts on this bike are original and correct for the 74 model year.   I do not have the pickle and brace.   This is a beautiful bike and will be a credit to any collection of early motocross bikes.   Rare bike with many rare parts.   Please review the pictures carefully and ask questions.   Low pipe race stand is included with the bike for display purposes.
