Description

For sale. 1983 Honda CM125. New MoT (expires 17 September 2015). These bikes are getting rarer and in my view are nicer than the Honda single 125 equivalent - smoother power delivery and better exhaust note. Nicer 'stance' too. UK learner legal. unrestricted.  Insurance is cheap (depending on age etc) and road tax is £18 per year. so running costs are low. See pictures for condition and mileage. You may wish to note the non-original indicators .  It has new fork stanchions and seals as well as a brand-new (less than 1 month old) rear tyre and battery. and a new air filter element on the original holder.  Front tyre is good. too.  Otherwise it's in what seems to be fairly original condition - it's a 'one key' bike. meaning that one key operates the ignition. fuel cap. steering and helmet locks. That's quite unusual in a bike this age. On this example it also means there is only one key.  Starts on the button. engine sounds sweet. no ominous noises. It has been rebored to 0. 25mm oversize (the minimum overbore) with matching pistons and rings and is not yet fully run in. So plenty of life left. properly maintained and all being well. Other points to note: The left hand side of the fuel tank is indented - a large shallow dent. not a crease. so it could pull (or push) out with the right gear. or replaced with a tank off a Chinese clone. The rear fender/mudguard has had holes drilled in it near the tail light mounting. The right hand side panel is plain. rather than having the CM125 Custom graphics. The RH silencer has been patched just behind the foot peg. The seat cover has been repaired. There were 4 MoT advisories. (1) Front wheel bearing has slight play. (2 + 3) both rear suspension units have a "slightly reduced damping effect" and (4) slightly misaligned rear wheel (I've adjusted that - the guy that fitted the new rear tyre got it wrong).  Wemoto. David Silver etc sell parts for this model. as does your local Honda dealership. Currently on SORN - the MoT station is a short push away.  I'm selling as I've just bought a CB250N (almost the same bike - just bigger) that needs more than a few parts and therefore some funding. Any questions. please ask. though the above is about all I know. I consider this a good bike. which could be used as-is for commuting. nbsp;learning more. or fun. or as a very good start for a rolling or winter restoration project.  Inspection welcome. and a test ride is possible at your own risk if you bring the cash deposit (buy-it-now amount). licence and proof of valid insurance. "Drop it and it's yours" applies. Collection only (though there are motorcycle delivery services on eBay). Cash on collection much preferred.  I think the first person to come and see this will make me an acceptable offer: please note the listing is 'buy it now' or 'best offer'. so try me: you may be pleasantly surprised.
