Back in the day. I used to think of a motorcycle as something that was blindingly fast. could rip your arms off. and flip you over backward faster than you could transmit the signal from your brain to your hand to ease back on the throttle. but times have changed. I've gotten older. and I've become more sensible. I think that's what this bike is; it's a sensible motorcycle. if there could be one.

The 2013 Honda CBR 500R came into production during 2013 and to some. it bored them. But to others. they found a genuine interest and adoration with it. because it was the bike you could have a ton of fun on. Lean over in corners. but still be able to soak up the bumps. Turn in with the agility of a puma thanks to it's front end reacting so comparatively different as to most anything else I see on the road today.

The power is sensible. You'll smile. but you won't be scared. The fuel economy is extremely sensible. At 71mpg's. 15 dollars will get you 300 miles. The ergonomics are sensible as the bike is very easy to use and quite rider friendly.

This example is completely stock. and is an excellent representation of a used model. Nearly new in appearance. this 2013 model CB 500R acts the same way it did when it left the showroom floor.

Who knew that sensible would be cool?I mean. in the same way that going back to basics has provided many a car manufacturer with throw back designs. and Honda with it's CB1100. finding reason to re-tool an entire factory just to make an air cooled 4 banger things are changing. The things that were once uncool are now becoming increasingly more hip.

The 500 is the brilliant starter bike or commuter or just a motorcycle you want for fun. but don't want to explode if you hit the throttle to hard. It's quicker than an under powered 250 and far more manageable and SENSIBLE than a larger 600cc bike.

I can't find a reason to not love this bike. because it's a brilliant idea that looks fantastic.

Economical. sensible. Honda reliability to back it up. and enough power for loads of fun. this 2013 CBR 500R is a pure design focused around the idea of making a sportier bike for everyone; esspecially one that won't tear a hole in your wallet.
