1975 Honda XL250 Honda XL Honda SL

Here is a frame-off restoration on a 1975 Honda XL 250. Frame. metal components. exhaust system. and other parts were sanded and/or media blasted and then repainted with correct Honda colors (base coat. solvent resistent cleat coat) followed by brand new NOS safety/warning decals. side cover decal and tank wings.  Every piece of chrome and every bolt. nut. and washer was replaced or machine polished. This bike was garaged under a blanket for over 30 years so the Tank paint was in outstanding condition and polished out beautifully (new wing decals were added).  The engine was then meticulously detailed in the correct Honda colors with points cover and other parts polished and clear coated. The engine has just over 8600 original miles and runs like new. Every gasket on this bike is tight - no drips. drops. seeping or weeping of any kind anywhere. The carburetor was cleaned and rebuilt and most of the cables are new NOS as are many of the rubber components. The seat is soft and in mint condition.  The tires are brand new 60/40 street trail. New steering and wheel bearings were added and all electrical components (signals. horn. gauges. lights. switches. etc) work like new. The electrical wiring/system was removed. inspected. then cleaned. detailed and reinstalled with a new battery. The bike has the original owners manual and complete tool kit in excellent condition.  Collectors please note:  Every detail on this bike is correct and complete down to the right cable ties and correct screw drivers in the tool kit.  All the hard to find parts are here such as battery lid (with correct battery retaining band) the right tool tray. tool kit. seat strap - EVERYTHING is here and correct - even the key fob is a 1975 Honda item. The bike also comes with the correct. and very nice. dealer-installed "Tripple A" luggage rack which is expensive and hard to find in decent condition.   The pictures tell the story.  It is not a museum-level restoration but it is very close!  There are some flaws or areas that could be better and they are:- The tank does have a few scratches with one near the tank wing on the right side (this is an unfaded original tank that looks fabulous so I elected not to repaint it).   - There are blemishes in the rear fender at the top   - some minor scratches on wheel rims- Some minor pitting on the taillight and mirror stalks. This is a fine restoration on a very popular bike that just turned 40.  This is fun bike to ride (plus can get 75 MPG) and strangers routinely point. stare or stop to ask questions. These old SL and XL bikes are a blast to ride and they absolutely appreciates in value every year - a combination you can't go wrong with.
