Description

 This Honda XL70 has been lovingly restored by a degreed Engineer. who is very detail oriented.   I have restored many old Hondas.   I am selling this one to make way for a new project. This 1974/1975 Honda XL70 has:Bored and Stroked engine with 51mm bore x 52mm stroke.   This is approximately 106cc to 108cc displacement. The engine was rebuilt using high quality engine parts from Japan and Europe.   No low quality Chinese parts in engine.   The crankshaft and crank bearings are new and not rebuilt. New piston and rings.   New Aluminum cylinder with cast iron sleeve. Most parts were OEM Honda parts. Clutch was rebuilt with new Honda parts. New chain and OEM Honda sprockets. Flow ported cylinder head. High performance mid/high rpm camshaft from Kitaco Racing JapanHigh Performance stronger Valve springs from Kitaco Racing JapanGenuine Honda Valves. seats. valve guides. and valve stem seals. New cam chain and sprocket. New Larger 20mm carburetor versus 16mm stock carb. New Hi Flow oil pump (270% more output than stock) from Kitaco Racing Japan. Aftermarket Electronic CDI ignition (no breaker points).   Uses stock flywheel. and stock flywheel cover.   CDI Electronic ignition gives better starting and idling.   I made an adapater for the CDI ignition to the stock wiring harness. The stock wiring harness was not cut or modified. So the original points ignition could be re-installed if desired. Tapered Roller bearings in steering stem are an upgrade over stock loose ball bearings. Powder coated frame. fenders. and engine side covers. Fuel tank and Side Covers were painted with Automotive Base Coat / clear coat with catalyst/hardener. There is some rust inside the tank.   The tank has no bondo or filler.   It took me years to find an XL70 tank that was not severely dented. New aftermarket reproduction shocks have 30% stiffer springs than original shocks. All rubber has been replaced. including engine seals. wheel bearing seals. etc. Front fork seals and wipers were replaced with OEM Honda parts. Correct size new tires and tubes were installed. Lights horn. and speedometer work correctly.   Turn signals not included but wiring is there and could be added by buyer. Reproduction Handlebars were custom made by a friend. and match the original Honda design.   The are straight and not bent. Correct original handlebar grips from Honda.   Handlebar switches are NOS OEM Honda and extremely difficult to find and expensive. Most Fasteners were replaced with stainless steel where possible. The Bike has been stored in a climate controlled garage.   The bike starts and runs very well.   Fun to ride. Defects on the bike are: A couple of small dents on the rear fender.   The seat cover has some wear.   I would recommend replacing it with a reproduction seat cover.   There is some rust inside the fuel tank (as mentioned above).   Front forks could use polishing.   It will need a new battery. I have tried to describe the condition accurately.   This Honda XL70  is not 100% perfect but is probably a 9. 5 out of 10.   This bike needs very little and could be enjoyed today. This Honda XL70 motorcycle is sold with Bill of Sale only. no title.   eBay did not have a setting for Bill of Sale only. and it forced me to enter something. so I entered "Rebuilt.
