Description

I know what you're thinking. Total custom. sure . bolt ons right? No. Some guys change a seat and bars and call it a total custom. This is a customized bike. The only stock parts on it are the wheels. forks. frame and handle bars.  She is known as Vicious Cycle. the Hondian. I built her back in 04 with a vision for fat fenders. fat tank. fat pipes.  Probably best if I just bulletize the highlights:* Indian Fenders kinda kicked off this project back in 04 after they shut down in 03. I bought raw steel fenders off EBay and went to work.  It's all steel. No fiberglass in this build. Welded in a rear subframe inside the fender. Four bolts in stock frame locations mount this beauty. Remove two rear bolts to flip the fender up to service the rear. Chrome Indian trim added. THAT wasn't cheap.  * Front Indian chief fender has a fender light added and chrome trim. I used Honda Aero fender trim to set off the fender.  * Taillights- Three 1959 Cadillac repros mounted in steel exhaust tubing that I molded and welded in so sweet on the fender.  * Rear suspension is a GL1800 mono shock set up. Very comfy ride. Adjust the preload on the fly using a rocker switch under the right holster I'll get to the holster later. Rear swing arm was beefed up to handle the load with the shock being moved forward ( used to have dual shocks). * Carb- the shock being mounted under the seat meant removal of the air box. If you have ever tried to get the stock carbs working with a modified air box you know it's impossible. Out came the dual carbs and in went a homemade black iron pipe intake equipped with. A Mikuni 40mm flat slide carb adorns the open end capped off with. A flamed chrome air breather. If your inseam is more than 31" you may want to change the intake as the pointed part at the back is above my knee. I am 30" inseam and I built this bike back in 2004 for me. She runs great and I have ridden from Dallas to North Carolina with this set up.  *Seat. the seat pan was hammered out in the garage and is shaped like a tractor seat. Covered with two density foams and custom stitched leather by a Texas saddle maker. The rear pillion if you can call it a seat. has "Vicious Cycle" stitched down itThe purple flames have faded over the years and now are more blue but the seat is an all day affair nonetheless.  Did I say this was a custom bike?* Fairing- Harley's best. Equipped with a stereo and most Harley gauges. 4" shield. custom marbleized purple flame paint on black. and stock Harley speakers. The Harley tach isn. set up. I never got around to figuring out what pulses to feed the Harley computer on board. The 6 rotor bolts up front trip a Hall effect pick up sensor that feeds a Speedo Healer. That healer pumps some 400% over pulses out to the Harley computer. The Harley computer sends serial data on a bus to both the Speedo and Tach. The tach is up to you.  *Controls- All Harley or after market for Harley. The thumb controls run the stereo. left and right blinkers. push both of them for hazards. Stock buckhorn handlebars with some sharp ass pointed flamed grips. The Risers are Rizoma 6" pullbacks topped in candy purple powder coat.  * Horn- 13" and 15" air horns run off of a Viair 150 psi compressor mounted to the frame under the fuel tank. The pressure switch is 135psi so that shuts off the compressor once the tank is filled. The tank is aluminum. polished and topped with candy purple powder coat. Hit the horn button and the electric solenoid kicks 135psi right to those horns and prepare to scare to poop outta inattentive drivers! A air pressure gauge in the fairing keeps track of your pressure and a switch on the dash cuts the compressed off if you don't want to hear it charging.  *Tank- I cut the stock tank cover off of my tank pan leaving the seam on the belly pan. I cut the belly out of a Valkyrie standard tank and left the seam on the top. The seams matched up between the Valk tank and Shadow belly. and I welded them up. Many times. I filled the gaps at the front and gave the tank a POR treatment.  Been leak free for 10 years. Netted 6 gallons on this tank. About 175 miles to reserve.  *Upgrades- Most recently this year I installed a MOSFET Regulator/Rectifier and upgraded stator from Roadster Cycle. Right after that the Harley voltmeter stopped working but I don't think there's a correlation. Maybe a disconnected wire while I was buttoning up the fairing.  *Tires- Metzlers are both in great shape and less than a year old.  *Exhaust- stock head pipes start the escape of wasted carbon. The front follows stock lines up until it meets the VTX C massive nacelle. The rear jug exhaust runs down under the bike to the left side to a second VTX C nacelle. Both have stock padding in them. I originally had a set I  cut open and gutted but leaned toward a quieter bike over the years.  *Light-bar- More Harley stock chromed parts. This light bar has blacked out blinkers with Frenched trim rings. The spot lights have Frenched trim rings as well. Another lighted switch in the dash enable lights off conditions when desired (working in garage etc. ).  This is all wired in using a Gonzo Light-bar Harness.  *Pegs- You HAVE to watch out for these things. They are sharper than the grips. I have sliced my shines. arms. and head open working around this bike. She is truly Vicious. Ball milled flames in aluminum and capped with a healthy dose of chrome. A matching shifter ties it all together.  *License plate bracket- Radiantz chrome led light runs across the top of the bracket and chromed flames extend from below the plate. Chrome pointed bolts secure them all together.  *Engine- the engine is a Honda Saber engine I bought from Pinwall back in 09 after running the stock engine low on oil running 95 all day down the interstate. 5 hours from home she gave up the ghost but I always wanted this engine because it looks better than the Spirit Engine.  This one is black with polished fins and all chrome engine covers. Sometimes I do miss the taller gearing that the sSpirit engine had but this is great for in town romps and short stints on the highway (4 hours or less). Not sure of the mileage now but I am certain it is under 30k.  *Engine plates- Ordered some aluminum flamed engine cover plates from Bluey in Austrailia. Had them chromed by Atlas plating in Houston Tx. They look kick ass and hide the stock Honda plates.  *Wheels- As stated before. wheels are stock Honda but I disassembled them and had them chromed at Atlas Plating in Houston Tx. All new bearings and seal were installed but that was back in 04. Haven't had any issues.  *Forks- Stock forks and stock rake. Had the forks chrome plated at Atlas Plating in Houston Tx. Can't say enough good stuff about these guys. They do great work. The forks are filled with Progressive springs and probably lowered. Can't remember for sure anymore. Honda Saber upper fork covers top it off with head to toe chrome.  *Headlight- A VTX 1800 headlight was one of the first mods I did to this bike. I kept it when I added the Harley fairing and it looks cool IMHO like it has a visor. Sylvania Silverstar lightbulb and a headlight modulator are installed.  *Mirrors- Chrome flame Arlen Ness mirrors really kick off this flamed bike. More decorative than functional some would say but I haven't had a lick of trouble seeing out of them.  *Radiator cover - more flames. A flamed insert set in a chrome trim wrap around the radiator.   *Holsters - The holsters were designed to cover the transition between the rear fender and the frame/side cover. They are large enough to hold the full tool kit on one side and I always used the other for a flashlight. tire pressure gauge. insurance papers. etc. Flamed to match the seat and all out of real leather. Mink oiled on occasion. Thats all I can think of. She is truly a bike that turns heads. She has a few trophies since I finished with her. 2004 Honda Hoot 3rd Place winner. El Dorado Ar 3rd place winner against a lot of $30k trailered bikes (I always ride). And finally 1st place Best in Show at Keller Bike Fest put in by Harley back in 09. Hasn't been in a show since. I have been building on my Yamaha RoadStar and decided Vicious Cycle needs someone to pay her more attention. I don't have to sell but for the right price I could make more space in the garage. I know this will break a lot of people's hearts seeing her on the auction block. It's a great opportunity for a total one off done with an artists eye. Lets bud her up!
