1985 CR500R

1985 CR500R. I am the second owner from new. The bike was Hare Scrambled for one year and then sold to me. It spent the rest of its life as a Flattrack/TT/Ice Bike. Excellent condition and well sorted. 70+ horsepower but due to the Gorr porting (see the link below). it has a linear powerband with none of the early CR500 surprises. Make no mistake however. it may be linear. but when it clears its throat. you need to be holding on. As is noted below. the cylinder was hard chromed by Gorr. There is now no need for re-sleeving and/or reporting. Bottom end has 5 races and the top end has three ice rides. The flywheelweight and steel clutch driven plates add to the tractability. The tires are new but old Dunlops. It has a 19" rear rim to allow Flattrack Tires. The rear shock was just serviced and the lowering spacer removed. It is fitted with a WP spring. but I have the stock spring. I have a box of miscellaneous spares that goes with it. The bike is registered as an ATV here in N. Y. We have to register and insure offraod bikes here to ride on public lakes. Needs only gas. oil and a rider.
