1980 Honda CBX Black 6 cylinder 15,500 miles

Another example of a Spectacular condition 1980 CBX . Over the last ten years. this bike has been garaged at my personal residence in Arizona in a Climate controlled Garage. As a result. it has less than 10. 00 miles on it. and it shows. I too have had this bike at a handful of shows with very favorable results. In addition to that. it is very clean. very stock and very original. When I bought this bike. I was told it would be shipped to me with the original exhaust. That never happened. Favorable feedback for this EBAY member was not forthcoming. I spent the next two years looking for a Concourse set of OEM exhaust for this bike. with no luck. I then contacted CBXMan and he was able to hook me up with a set of Laser 6-2 exhaust that was the closest to the originals. Now I do have mixed reviews on this set. The Tail-Pipes I do like better than the stock ones. However. the Head-Pipes are of single wall only. therefore the typical discoloring is there. and that bothers me. The other thing that bothers me is. this set has higher back pressure than stock ones. but I have had this motor tuned to compensate. Another feature I do like about them is. they are actually quieter than the stock ones.  The next issue ( that I was not made aware of ) was two of the Carbs. were not serviceable when this bike was shipped to me. Once again CBXMan came through for me. He had several 1980 SS models being parted out. and he was happy to supply me with two exact matchers for my bike. Therefore keeping all matching numbers on my motor parts. With this change made. the bikes Carbs. were all re-jetted and synchronized and tuned for the new exhaust .  The bike now ran fantastic and is a ball to ride. This was done three years ago. and could stand to be tuned again.  New Metzlers were installed front & rear. along with brakes all the way around. including Rotors turned. Also when being tuned a K&N Air filter was installed in the factory housing. Everything else on this bike is factory original.  Up until five years ago. I lived in Arizona with a Climate controlled Garage. moved to California with yet another Climate controlled Garage all of which was great for the Bike and myself. Two years ago I took a job transfer to Louisiana and bought a house with no garage. This Bike will get ruined in this climate with out storage. So I would rather see this bike go to someone that appreciates it. and will take care of it. The bike is still very impressive to look at and still runs and handles even better. Two issues I will deal with if kept. and they are. over the last month I have managed to get the Choke linkage stuck. but in the wide open position. It does still start alright. and runs well as soon as it warms up. I am hoping it's just the cable.  As mentioned before this Bike is almost all original and included in that is the chain. It does appear to have the original chain on it. and it absolutely needs a new one.  I do have this Bike listed locally. and reserve the right to end this auction early.
