Honda CG125 Storm.
I bought this in August as a project with the intention of using it to commute to work. It had been stood in a shed since 2010 and had a few things needed to get it roadworthy again. Change in circumstances has resulted in me putting this up for sale. I now have alternative travel arrangements in place for work and the bike is currently kept in a garage that I will be losing shortly because of bereavement.
I have spent a few hundred quid getting this roadworthy and it now comes with a full MOT having passed on 9/12/14 with 4 advisories:
Rear tyre worn close to legal limit - probably got a few hundred miles left on it and it is still road legal.
Front wheel bearing has slight free play.
Front rolling brake test has slight fluctuation of brake effort.
Rear brake test indicates a slightly grabbing brake. (I had slightly over adjusted the rear brake and have backed the adjustment off a bit now and all seems fine)
Fairing has a few scratches and I've had to black vinyl wrap the screen as it was also cracked. All looks ok though and perfectly presentable. Few minor marks on the tank and seat but again all looks very presentable. just not a show bike. Both side panels have lost the ends of the locks but the barrels still turn with the keys and it would be an easy fabrication repair to the end of the barrels with fibre glass. or you could buy new locks at ?32 a pair.
Starts and runs fine without any issues. Has had new rear brake shoes. new coil pack. ignition lead. spark plug and air filter. Recent oil change. New mirrors. new clutch lever. electrical contacts on brake & clutch switch replaced due to corrosion on the contacts. New indicator relay. new battery. full new exhaust and gaskets. The front footpegs have been blasted and powder coated and new rubbers fitted. rear footpegs are brand new. Tool kit is present in the box under the air filter. It benefits from both kick start and electric start.
I have described this bike as honestly and accurately as I can to the best of my knowledge to avoid any comebacks. It is not in showroom condition but is a very presentable bike which would make an ideal winter commuter or would be a great first bike for a learner or somebody who has recently passed their test or CBT on which to get some riding experience. I will throw in a Haynes CG125 manual and also a copy of the Honda dealers stripdown and repair manual specific to this model to the winning bidder.
