Description

Welcome to this sale of my 1969 Honda PC50 moped.  It has has now had the following work done before its last mot:Wheels: Both wheels have new bearings and seals. rim tape. tubes. tyres and brake shoes. The front wheel has a new speedo drive washer. drive oilseal and cable. Frame: New head race bearings and recovered saddle (no splits). Front suspension has been rebushed.  The bike has been completely stripped and given a bare-metal respray in original "Honda grey" and white with waxoyl to the inside of the frame. New control cables as needed around the bike. Electrics: New rear light unit. speedo-headlight nacelle replaced with a good used version but is missing the plastic lens cover.  New bulbs. new HT lead. plug. points and condensor. Fuel: The carburettor has been cleaned and serviced and there is a new carb-cover (I could only get blue at the time but has been painted gray). air-filter. fuel cap. fuel tap and in-line fuel filter. I am running on unleaded fuel with additive. Overall then this bike has pretty much been recommissioned. I doubt that its perfect because all in all it's still 35 years old and I haven't changed everything. It dates from an era when the term "moped" actually meant something different from its meaning today- these were genuine motor-assisted bicycles that could be propelled by their pedals (in the case of this bike there is a simple flick switch to change between human and mechanical power). Consequently they were never designed with superbike performance in mind! Having said that  this bike will drag my carcass around town at a steady 30 mph. To be fair 30 is really its top speed. All the work mentioned above was done just before the last mot in March of this year. There are benefits to this motor as the PC50 can "run on the smell of an oily rag" and returns mpgs in excess on 100! Further. nbsp;depending to your local regulations. you may be able to use cycle paths and bus lanes. Insurance costs are paltry and being an "historic" bike.  road tax is free! new style V5 in my name.  Tel. 07533675636 A text. Call or email is fine. I also have a 1971 pc 50 too if interested. Collection in Peterborough. Cambridgeshire. Cash on collection preferred.                                                  Thanks For Looking. Garrath.
