Honda XL 250 XL250 R Classic Project Barn Find

Here is a classic 1985 twin carb model XL250R. The bike would make a great project of restoring it to it’s former glory.

As you can see the bike is partially stripped down. there are two engine bottom ends and one top end. and one set of carbs. so there is enough to build one complete bike and have some spares left over. The only part that I can see is missing is the header pipe.

I bought the bike exactly how it is. I was told by the previous owner that one bottom end is good and the other had a problem. I think he said that the big end bearing was gone. Most of the bike is pretty solid. the front wheel is good. the silencer is solid. the tank is good apart from small dents and the shock still has damping. Obviously it does have a fair amount of rust in places. the rear rim has quite a bit of corrosion in one spot from sitting but should be salvagable. most of the rust is just cosmetic damage. the main thing is that most original parts are present which is a rare find.

I don’t have a logbook for the bike so this will need applying for.
