Honda VF500F2 - 1985 - Project Bike

Welcome to my auction for a Honda VF500 F2 first registered in 1985 - I will add a few more photos over the weekend. I purchased the bike a few years ago with the intention of completing a full nut and bolt rebuild. I have a baby due at the end of February and simply don't have the time to complete all my projects so this bike has to go.   I have the V5 in my name. the bike has no tax or MOT.   When I brought the bike it was complete and running apart from missing a screen. both wing mirrors and chain. I still do not have these bits so these are the only things the bike is missing. everything else is there. The bike is currently a rolling chassis and will need finishing. therefore it is being sold as a project. Photo shown of complete bike is how it looked before I started the rebuild. First thing I did was to strip the bike down and start getting parts powder coated. painted. plated or cleaned up. The colours have been matched as close to original as possible and I have spent approximately ?2000 on the following:Frame has been shot blasted and powder coated to match original colourWheels have been shot blasted and powder coatedFront fairing mount has been shot blasted and powder coatedFront suspension legs have been shot blasted and powder coated and have had a full rebuild with all new parts to include seals and oil. Engine covers. cam cover. water pump etc all powder coated. Numerous other parts have been painted or powdercoated. too much to list. Collector box is in perfect condition and has been painted in heat proof paint. Exhaust down pipes are in perfect condition and have been heat wrapped. Petrol tank was shot blasted to remove paint and rust. There was some rot at the bottom so this was cut away and repaired. Tank has been primed. ready for painting. Carbs have been fully stripped down and rebuiltNuts. bolts and items originally zinc plated have either been replaced with new Honda items or re-plated to make new. New Motobatt BatteryNew silicon hosesNew clock surround as old one crackedWiring loom cleaned. recovered and connections that needed replacing have been replaced. Engine painted - note: has some crazing on areas of paintNumerous brand new parts fitted and included as well as all old. original parts. Interesting number plate!The bike comes with a few large boxes of various spare parts. a complete engine and a set of original wheels. The fairing is complete and in pretty good condition apart from the odd scratch. Certainly no bits missing or big cracks anywhere. Will need painting to make perfect. Engine ran absolutely fine with no issues and comes with a complete spare if any parts are ever needed in the future. There are two exhausts which are usable but scratched. This bike will make an interesting project for someone to finish off. I would love to finish it but simply do not have the time or space to get it done. All work has been completed to a very high standard and will attract lots of attention at your local bike nights!I am located just outside of Sidmouth in Devon. you will need a van or trailer to take the bike away.
