1977 HONDA CB550 FOUR K UNFINISHED PROJECT

I purchased this bike in August 2012 as an unfinished project with the intention of completing it as it was or building a caf? racer. I haven't done either - Early on I purchased a new Motad silencer and battery and had it running; that was as far as I got all other work was done by the previous owner

Looking at the bike it is a bit mixed

Good points are:

Frame powder coated. tank and side panels painted to a high standard. inside of tank spotless. engine very clean and has been painted. quite a few polished and well painted parts. chrome front mudguard pretty good

Poor points are:

Forks appear to have been rebuilt but are leaking oil so would require another rebuild. stanchions not great. rear mudguard corroded. I think the rear light assembly is incorrect (US version?) Front brake caliper damaged - would require replacement. wheels are serviceable but corroded. /p>

I do have an old MOT from 2000 showing mileage as 28. 63 and I understood that was probably the last MOT before it was off the road so clocks may have been changed - therefore I cannot verify mileage

As selling as a project it comes with a few spares but there may be parts missing. any viewing or questions welcome
