Vintage 1976 Honda Goldwing GL1000 - Restored

This is a beautifully restored 1976 GL1000. If you are not familiar with this model. it was introduced in 1975 as a new "Superbike". It features an water-cooled horizontally opposed 4 cylinder engine with shaft drive. The early years of the Goldwing were "naked". Later models became more focused on the luxury touring market. and came fitted with fairings. saddle bags. cruise controls. etc. This bike stays true to the original design concept. They are one of the most sought after models from the '70's and '80's. and are known for excellent longevity. many having run well beyond 100. 00 miles. This motorcycle was completely stripped. the frame was media blasted and powder-coated. New steering head bearings. and upgraded swing arm bearings were installed. Mileage on chassis is 60K. The original engine suffered a timing belt failure. and a lower mileage replacement engine was sourced as a replacement. About 24K miles on engine. Timing belts replaced. New water pump. New fuel pump. Valves adjusted. Stock carbs were professionally rebuilt by Pistol Pete's.    Fuel tank removed/cleaned. and reinstalled - rust free.   Brake master cylinder. and all calipers were media blasted and powder coated. rebuilt with all new seals. and brake pads. Brake rotors custom drilled for improved wet-weather performance. Valve covers. belt covers and exhaust headers were ceramic coated. Aftermarket reverse megaphone mufflers. Custom Mercedes AMG Gun Metal Gray metallic paintwork with custom gold pinstriping. Corbin Gunfighter Saddle.    Newer tires - about 2500 miles on front and rear. Included are a quick-release National Cycle windscreen. and a custom luggage rack with Kuryakyn tail bag (see photo). Also included but not shown are a fork brace. and a set of engine crash guards.   PLEASE NOTE:  In pictures # 1&2. the bike is shown with aftermarket turn signals.   I found these to be too small to be seen easily. and located a set of factory original turn signals - as shown in picture #3.     Unlike a lot of these old Naked Wings. this one hasn't been hacked up. The frame. and suspension are in stock configuration (forks rebuilt with new seals. fork oil. and gaiters). and the bike is basically stock. It is a turn-key ride ready for the next owner. There is one small chip in the paint. but otherwise it is flawless (see picture).

This motorcycle is for sale locally. and the auction may be ended early in the event of a local sale.   A non-refundable deposit of $500 (via Paypal) is required at the conclusion of the auction.   You will then have 7 days to make arrangements for pick up or shipment.   Balance of purchase price will be in CASH or Cashier's Check only.   I can assist with loading. if needed.
