Description

2006 Honda VTR1300. This is the "Retro" version of Honda's 1300cc road bike. It has a little over 7. 00 easy miles on it; I bought it with less than 5. 00 and have ridden it from spring 2014 through today. and I continue to ride it through the winter. Why am I selling? I would like to up or downsize according to the deal I can make. I have turned this bike into a "bagger" with small leather saddlebags. I consider it an "all weather bike" since adding saddlebags and heated handlebar grips. It came to me with a Memphis Shades windscreen that perfectly protects the rider's body and deflects most of the road wind from the head. The bike can be ridden very comfortably. with the right gear. in weather above 30 degrees. It is a 5 speed with floorboards and heal/toe shifting.  I have my own bike mechanic (here in Columbia) who has gone through the bike thoroughly in the past month. He pulled the front end apart. rebalanced the front wheel and installed the grip heaters. If you are a serious buyer. I'd be happy to let you contact him regarding this bike. And I am sure he'd be willing to continue to service the bike if you were to buy it. He is not a dealer. but he is highly skilled. honest. respectable and reasonably priced--well below the local bike shops. But he only works on bikes that can be delivered to him in Columbia and he guarantees his work. This bike is not for beginners; it is heavy and fast. It much prefers the highway over the cities. I don't know how many times I've hit the highway. looked down in shock to see that I was doing 85. and felt as if the bike was built for that speed. Very smooth; no vibration or strain on the motor. I have tried to depict all of the "flaws" in the bike in the pics. One of the rear exhaust pipes have a few vertical scratches on them; I'm told Meguires will fix this. I just haven't had time to try it. The gas tank has a few scratches on the bottom left near the seat. Touch up paint and a buffer will fix this. Again. I'd rather ride the bike than polish it. The front fender has a rub scratch on it. Same fix process as the tank. One of the turn signals has a crack in it. And again. it works. so I haven't bothered to replace it.
