The 1972 Honda Trail 70 4 speed is truly the "Holy Grail" of the early 1970's minibike renaissance. Every 10 year old kid in America wanted a minibike including me. It was 1970. I was 9 years old. I remember having a frame type minibike with a pull start Briggs and Stratton engine. It was a blast! Then one day I saw the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. It stopped me in my tracks. It was so new and so different. It was the new Honda Trail 70. Honda sold 100. 00 CT70's that year and the CT70 went on to become Honda's third largest production motorcycle in their history. So what could I do? I wanted one so badly. We went on family road trips. pulled a travel trailer and stayed at KOA campgrounds. Every where we stayed. it seemed there was a red Trail 70 mounted to the front or the back of every Winnebago. I had to have one! The problem was that a new one cost $375. Where was I going to find all that cash! I became very ambitious. Paper route. yard work. Whatever I could do to make enough money to get one. Then one day my parents knowing how badly I wanted one helped with the finances and on my 10th birthday it became a reality! We headed to the Honda dealer on a Saturday. There they were! Some stacked up in crates. I had to have a red one. There it was in the showroom. It was Candy Ruby Red. It was the best day of my childhood by far! Then I woke up! I never did get one. I did end up with a Gemini Boss 80 a year later. It was green. made in Taiwan. and I rode the hell out of it!Fast forward to the future. It hit me one day and I remembered how badly I wanted that Honda so I set out to find one. It was an Emerald Green 4 speed and it was very tired. That was 11 years ago and I have been restoring them ever since. Perfecting the process I have restored many and have loved every minute. I primarily restore the early models specializing in the 4 speeds. They only made them for two years and are the most sought after. It's those wonderful candy colors and all that chrome! I have never sold any completely restored bikes on eBay as it seems as soon as I finish one it's sold. I have shipped them all over the country and have many repeat customers. I do have others. If you had a Candy Gold 3 speed. an Emerald Green or Topaz Orange 4 speed. nbsp; I can help you relive your childhood. Candy Ruby Red. Candy Sapphire Blue. Candy Blue Green and Candy Yellow Special. I can also build to your custom specifications and rebuild original Honda engines to 88cc or 108cc. Let me know.   This bike can be registered and titled in Minnesota at new owner's request and expense. I can assist you with shipping. You are welcome to pick up or make your own shipping arrangements.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. Thank you for your time and consideration. Good luck!
