1951 Indian Chief w/sidecar 80 incher this is an estate sale for vern goodwin

This is an estate sale for vern Goodwin. I am listing it for his widow. I have known vern and this bike since he bought it from a local guy in 1968 about the time I also started riding Indians. This was always a RIDER as well as a show bike winning many awards. It is not an original paint bike. The car is a 1948 I believe as I cannot read the serial numbers on it. But it is correct short frame chassis for this bike. Interior may or may not be original but is very nice. The whole unit got all new paint approx. 10 years ago and most chrome was done also. The motor has very few miles on a complete rebuild and was dynamically balanced at that time. I rode it since then and it is very smooth and runs great. It has an electric start we put on a few years ago. one of many we put on. It has a 12volt alt. for excellent lighting and starting. Currently has a H-D CV carb on it for better mileage and performance. The dist. points cam has been reground to bring the back cly. into time. It makes a huge difference over a stock points cam. Vern grew up in an Indian shop as his dad was our dealer for many years till Indian closed. Vern continued to build and restore Indians over the years. The trim on the car is chrome plastic but the original are upstairs as are the original parts he took off the bike. Carb. gen. etc. I should be able to answer most of the questions about it .
