1947 Indian Chief Restored
This 1947 Indian Chief Motorcycle is newly restored with 35 miles on the rebuilt drive-train. This bike was obtained as a rolling basket in 2001. The new owner took the project on as a retirement project and did it right. This motorcycle was completed in 2006 and has been a garage queen under a cover since because of the builder/owner’s health. The engine and power plant were completed by Dan Reese in central California. Dan is a well-known Indian Motorcycle builder who completes projects correctly. WE have a compltete file of parts and labor description in Dan's hand describing this build.The engine has been rotated through envy 3 months or so and is ready to be reintroduced to the road and correctly broken in. This restored Indian Chief is licensed in Arizona and ready for the road and for show. Mileage: 35 miles on the bike since the rebuild.Paint:This motorcycle was painted by a professional using quality paint and workmanship. Looks great up close and far away! This is a base coat clear coat PPG paint color matched to a good sample of Indian Red. Sheet metal: Sheet metal was properly prepped and fits very well. Handle bars are reproduction medium rise bars. The case protectors are new reproduction also. Head light and running lights are reproduction. Chrome: Chrome is new on restoration and well done. Tires and Rims: New tires and new rims with stainless spokes. Coker 2” white walls 500 X 16. Mechanical: The engine and tranny were rebuilt by an Indian specialist. It is correctly tuned and beautifully prepared. Runs smooth through the gears. Standard 74 inch equipment. A correct break in period for this motor and tranny will be essential to long term life.
