Nice Original 1938 INDIAN CHIEF

The flaked decal on tank has been redone and looks perfect. A Beautiful original parts, atching number Indian Chief with rebuilt motor. I have owned this Chief almost 4 years bought it restored from an AMCA member in Virginia, ut put a lot of time working the bugs out of the restoration done back east. Part of the nickel cylinders have been painted for some reason, ut nickel seems fine underneath. Never tried stripping them to see what nickel condition is like. Although the running condition was misrepresented when I bought it, y description is accurate and will answer any questions you may have. I rebuilt both front and back wheels (out of true), nd had one of the best Indian Mechanics in Northern California go through the bike to get dialed in. All the effort paid off because it’s one of the smoothest running Indian Motors I have had. The clutch is very smooth through out the entire release and brakes good. Due to the period valve covers, t will leak some oil from that area. Has clear California title with a 1938 plate. Its in Non Op status with DMV. I had an original plate that vibrated off and was lost, o I had a reproduction plate made (extra plates come with bike) with the same number.
