Description

Here is an amazing one in a thousand (or more) barn find. The bike rested in suspended perfect animation from 1930 to 2015 every image you see, nbsp;the saddle, ed paint frame and sheet metal with correct black and gold stripin, nbsp;water transfer decals on tank and head, nbsp; black paint wheels and hubs (CORRECT) is original and in amazing original shape everything works all levers throttle, arb linkage, oth clutches (foot and hand) freely shifts into a 3 gears magneto looks like its brand new. all the the nickel plating original. chain, ubs, rimary chain all move freely the engine will turn over with incredible compression. I have never dared fire her up. She was missing a muffler (exhaust pipes are original and in incredible shape) So I THROUGH a TON OF HUNTING found a 1920 from Ziggy In Canada (INCREDIBLE SOURCE FOR PARTS) the muffler is correct ( 1917 had one tail pipe this has two.. the rear part of the muffler comes off if you find one can be replaced, hat being said, his muffler is choice original and matches motorcycle perfectly and fits but if you fire the bike up you must make more permanent connections. I also got NOS original jute covered 1920s spark wire (you need to finish the ends that go into magneto) the GREEN SPLITDORF plugs are original. It Even has The original tool kit wrapped in 1917 canvas in the tool compartment. I bought a set of beautiful period 1920s Firestone NON SKID tires (MADE IN USA) (see picture of the one I put on front wheel as the one on bike was petrified, ut I left the rear one on (probably was 2nd tire set put on bike its a Goodyear diamond tread 2nd NON SKID tire included. IT DOESNT GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS win a award for one of the best preserved bike in the world! I have priced this bike at a super fair price after consulting with a few experts I elected to skip the big name auctions as to be able to sell direct to anothe, ithout the sellers and buyers fees, o that is the price. Call Me, nd email me I have a 1977 Colorado Title signed by original owner and released to me. Easily transferred to buyer. 1930 Colo plate goes with bike as found!!!! Own an amazing piece of history that is a true time capsule. This could be the judging standard for this era Indians EVERY NUT AND BOLT IS CORRECT! every return spring, own to smallest part is original. Nothing replaced or repaired with exception of adding muffler......Motorcycle was incredibly cared for, nbsp;my guess is less than 3500 miles original miles. Was used to commute from home to school back in the day (have a decent oral history of the motorcycle) Inside the oil and gas tanks, hey look like new. On and on. Just amazing. New pair of high quality footboard pads and new kick starter rubber are also included. Match originals perfectly. One original foot board pad included also. Contact me for details on any of the above and happy to take high quality pictures of anything upon request.
Motorcycle was number 3395 built in late 1916 and Ive come to learn that authentic domestic 1917 Indians are very rare. Most were sold to military and are olive drab finish.
Only part missing: Lid for storage/battery box (this is magneto model so box was for storage)Inside the box is an original 1920s Goodyear tire kit can, hat contains a Benton spark plug. That was a pleasant surprise!
