Very. Very Rare - 1916 Indian Powerplus Motorcycle. These just do not appear for sale in virtually any venue anymore.

I am selling this for a friend who acquired it recently and will answer all questions I get via eBay.

Motor turns over. has compression. spark and the bike rolls easily.

Cylinders look good as do the fins on the heads.  

Needs exhaust system and possibly other parts.

GREAT Candidate for the next Motorcycle Cannonball Rally. believed to be scheduled for 2016.

The Indian Powerplus is a Motorcycle that was built from 1916 to 1923 by the Hendee (Indian) Manufacturing Company. Designed by Charles Gustafson. the Powerplus's engine was Indian's first flathead.

In late 1915. Indian introduced  the new engine which used side valves instead of the inlet-over-exhaust valve layout used in previous designs.   The flathead engine was quieter and needed less maintenance than the earlier engine. It was named "Powerplus" because its output of approximately 16 horsepower was noticeably greater than that of the earlier engine.
