Description

1946 INDIAN CHIEF BOBBER - LOOKS LIKE A HARLEY DAVIDSON.  This is one cool 1946 Chief Bobber that was built in the early 1970's.  Note the New Jersey 1974-75 sticker on the rear fender.  We just bought a small collection and unfortunately we have to sell this Chief to keep the rest.  The bike is a suicide clutch.  It runs and shifts good but has been in storage for years and will need some TLC to make it road worthy.  It is still 6 volt and does seem to charge.  The VIN # is CDF-4517 and the frame # 346-4517.  It has a Linkert M-344.  All of the wiring is very old but seems to work OK.  The Handlebars are 9 3/4" tall.  The front tire is a 325-19 and the headlight has a # KD 869.  It also has a New Jersey inspection with a date of 1979-1980.  The girder front end is very old chrome.  The gas tank seems to be clean and good inside.  Note the cool letters on the tank caps.  We didn't even clean the bike so it has many years of dirt.  It has a neat jockey shift.  I have had some interest in this bike locally.  I reserve the right to end this auction early.
