Description

1952 Indian Chief Roadmaster 80 - Matching Numbers!

I am the 3rd owner of the Chief.

Bought from a son who got the Chief for his dad in 1987. the story goes his dad never drove this bike.

Originally from Massachusetts. the prior owner showed this bike at the British Iron Association meet at the Knights of Columbus grounds and won the award for the "best USA" bike in East Hartford. CT on August 26. 1990.

--A copy of the September 1990 Motorcyclists Post article is included--

A Matching Numbers bike. the tanks were repainted at one time!

A set of tank decals was bought but never applied. They are included!

It appears the balance of this bike is as original!

A very clean Roadmaster. Wiring harness and all is very clean!

It has a Linkert M351 Carburetor. Entirely possible this is left over inventory from 1951 and as a lower number bike!

The only noticeable spot for paint scuffing is on the left side of the front fork tube below the chrome tube that could be touched up easily.

Kept in dry storage and not driven on the road since I acquired it until 2 months ago when 3 miles were added to it.

The current look of this Chief appears near identical to that in 1987 or 1990. There is no reason to doubt that the mileage on the bike isn't valid.

A video on Labor Day 2014 showing the start of this 1952 Chief was made.

On Dec-28-14 at 19:59:47 PST. seller added the following information:

Failing eye-sight means an error on the Linkert Carb. it actually has an M350 or so it appears. the 0 looks a bit like a 1. definitely not a 2.
