1947 Chief "Clubman" Motorcycle

 Condition: UsedTitle: Wisconsin -Clear from 2005Mileage: UnknownYear: 1947Displacement: 74CI/1200cc What we have here is an apparent 3 owner. mostly original. very solid. nbsp;Indian motorcycle.   This bike is a 1947 Chief "Clubman" model that was originally manufactured in Springfield. MA.   Prior to switching the title over to a clear Wisconsin title in 2005. this bike was last titled in Iowa in 1965.    This bike was originally purchased new in Iowa and was reported to have been last regularly ridden in Iowa in the late 60's.   The original fenders still have the original paint on the inner wells and I was told from the previous owner. the sheet metal was painted in the late 60's.   The rest of the frame. forks etc. are straight and still in their original finishes.   The original Motolamp headlight is fitted with a 6v halogen bulb.   This bike's Original Auto-lite generator is the upgraded {High Output} and was completely rebuilt with new armature while conserving its original finish and has few miles of service since.    The original "two up" saddle was replace at one point with a period "Buco" brand seat.   This project might be especially interesting to you if you like the "Original Paint/Survivor" look that is increasingly more popular today.   Here is your chance to own an American icon. a skirted fendered Chief from the "Big Three" American motorcycle manufactures from the early years of motorcycling (Indian.
