You're looking at a 1979 KZ650B. This bike has some obvious cosmetic issues. but nothing serious. Most importantly. everything works correctly and the bike is very reliable. I've had this bike for at least 15 years and I can answer any question you may have. I'll list the upgrades:Supertrapp 4-into-1 exhaust2mm oversize (65mm) pistons (720cc big-bore kit)Late model KZ750 head with oversized valves (34mm in. 30mm ex)Forged aluminum valve spring capsHigh-lift camsJet kitElectronic ignitionH4 headlight conversionThe bike had been sitting without being ridden. so I did a complete carburetor overhaul and sync. rebuilt the fuel valve. and replaced the battery. I have enjoyed it long enough and it's time for someone else to enjoy it. This bike starts easily. but if the battery ever gets low you can kick start it. It has a smooth idle and a nice exhaust note (not the obnoxious chatter and pop of a Kerker or similar). The engine runs well and doesn't leak or make any unusual noises. The throttle response is good thanks to the accelerator pump (not included on earlier models) and it accelerates well (for a 650). The tires still have 60-70% of the tread remaining. There are some signs of surface rust and oxidation all over especially on the tank and both outer engine cases have damage from low speed low-siding. but the bike has never been in any serious accidents and the frame and handlebars are straight. The engine doesn't use a lot of oil between changes and only smokes a little bit when started. This is a good daily rider which will require little maintenance. and with a little effort could really be a nice classic. The charm of this bike is its simplicity; the oil filter is the standard paper element type (same as most Kawasaki KZ and Honda CB models). the points have been upgraded to maintenance-free electronic ignition. the valves are shim-under-bucket (like all modern sportbikes). and the air filter is accessed under the seat without tools. The seat locks with the same key as the ignition and there are two hooks under the seat for helmet security.
