1974 Kawasaki KZ400 Cafe Racer

 You are bidding on a 1974 Kawasaki KZ400 that has been professionally turned into a cafe racer.   The bike started as a low mileage completely stock bike.   The carburetors were replaced with new Mikuni VM32 carburetors.   They have been dynotuned and jetted at Max Speed Cycles in Kernersville. NC.   A dyno chart will be provided with the bike.   It makes right at 30hp.   A custom rod has been machined to go between the carbs.   New K&N filters are on the back of the carbs.   The paint is original as is the seat.   The rear fender has been shortened and the original sticker from the dealership it was purchased at is still on the rear fender.   The front fender has also been shortened.   The frame rails have been cut behind the shocks and led tail light/brake lights have been installed in the frame with the wires run through the frame.   The mirror is original and the stem has been cut down and rethreaded so the mirror is shorter.   The bars have been changed and the frant brake master cylinder is a brand new modern nissan master cylinder.   The front brake caliper has been rebuilt and a braided steel brake line used.   The front brake rotor has also been drilled.   The fork seals have been replace and heavy duty fork springs installed with fresh fluid.   The steering stem bearing have been checked and repacked.   The chain has been replaced and the swingarm bushings have been cleaned and greased.   The rear shocks are heavy duty units from Koni.   The tires are new Avon Roadrider AM26's.   The engine covers have been lightly polished and holes drilled in areas purely for cosmetics.   The points cover has also been drilled but is sealed from the inside so it is 100% waterproof.   The oil is fresh and the valve adjustment is in spec as well.   New battery and headlight bulb.   The bike starts right up and runs well.   It has great drivability. whether in town or on the open road.   This bike handles well and stops great.   This thing sounds awesome with a deep tone that you would not think would come from a 400cc bike.   This bike is very fun to ride and gets looks everywhere it goes.   The mileage may be different when you pick it up from what is listed as we still ride this thing.   We LOVE it.   However. the stable is full and I have another project behind this one so it has to go.   I have never shipped a bike so if you would like to have it shipped you will need to make all of the arrangements and take care of all the costs.   The bike is available to be seen at Max Speed Cycles in Kernersville NC 336-993-6661.   There will be NO test rides of this bike.   I will test ride it for you to see that is works and runs well and we can also put it on the dyno at Max Speed Cycles and run it there so you can see that it runs well and all the gears are good and so forth.   Like I said this bike was built by professionals not in someone's basement.   Thank you for looking.
