Description

WOW. what a find.   We purchased this motorcycle last year from the original owner with 3909 original miles.   It was purchased in New Jersey (I have original title) in 1977 and shipped to Arizona in 1982 where it has sat on the center stand in a garage!  The bike was obviously under inches of dust and had an after-market seat on it (included in the sale) and the original seat was on a shelf.   We drained the oil and cleaned out the gas tank. removed the carburetors and went through them. changed the plugs. installed a battery. etc. and. after a few clicks of the electric start. the motorcycle fired right up!  It is in amazing original condition as delivered from the dealer 38 years ago (see the pictures) and has a crash bar probably installed at the dealer in the 70's.

There had been some liquid spilled on the tank probably in the shipping process in 1982 and the tank was slightly "yellowed" in the areas where the liquid sat so we had the tank painted and re-striped to original specs.   ALL other plastics are original and un-touched and in excellent condition.   The seat is near perfect with all stickers on the pan and the original complete tool kit with the wrenches stamped with "Kawasaki" on them was under the seat in the original pouch.   The plastic/rubber "covers" that were on the brake and clutch levers are still there!  There were no mirrors on the bike (probably taken off for shipping and miss-placed) but these are the basic Mickey Mouse ears mirrors and easy to find.   I did not want to add any after-market pieces on the bike so did not replace these nor did I replace the front brake master cylinder which will need to be rebuilt/replaced. Tires have a lot of tread and are not weather cracked since they were in a garage but keep in mind they have quite a few years on them.

Included is a First Edition Clymer manual printed in 1979 and the original key.   I drove the bike about 500 miles to enjoy it a bit and it does not leak a drop of oil. does not smoke at all and is a very comfortable ride.   Take a look at the pictures and see for yourself the condition of this un-restored "barn find".

I have described the motorcycle as accurately as possible and it is sold with no warranty expressed or implied but I believe that the lucky new owner will enjoy it.   Add it to your collection or ride it sparingly and the value should always be there.   You may contact me via e-mail or at (602) 317-7797 if you have any questions or would like more pictures.

Please do not bid unless you have the means and intend to go through with the purchase.   I will help in any way with facilitating shipping but it remains the responsibility of the buyer.
