Description

Selling an amazing 9. 00 mile. low VIN. matching numbers - 1972 Kawasaki Z1Scroll down for pictures!I'm not going to start off by saying "you've seen the rest. this is the best" or any of the typical lines you see all the time. I'm also not going to lie and try to tell you this bike is 100% original. What I will say. is what we have here is an example of a very low mileage. low VIN Z1. paired with the best restoration parts straight from Japan. Anything that is not original on this bike is as close as you can get to original - reproduction parts from the original molds in Japan.  This bike runs like it should. I freshened up the top end because the length of time it was sitting before I could get to it (not because it was stuck. I just thought it was the right thing to do). As far as I can tell. this has all the correct 1972 parts. such as. but not limited to: proper date stamping on the rims (these do have some pitting but did not want to replace because of the stamping on them - maybe a re-chrome is in order - up to the buyer). brake rotor. rear brake brace. I could not find a stamp on the swing arm (I read some do not have a stamp). the gauges were rebuilt and are 1972 gauges. the carbs are correct as is the head. Other items of interest are the Dunlop tires which I think are the original ones or type (they do show weather checking). the forks are correct 72 forks. chain oiler & tank are on the bike but I didn't bother to hook it up. Numbers match (stock numbers)Again. this is a low mileage bike from 1972. When I got the the bike it had the original pipes but they were damaged. I took a pipe with me to several different trade shows to match them to the new manufactures out there (this took A LONG time). I found a set that matches the early style that were on the bike. made in Japan (sold to me by MachIVMotors - not cheap but exact match - the nice lady there also showed me the body work also made in Japan they again showed me a product to match this machine). I have the old body work that I will offer to sell to the winner on this bike it is flat black that was "in" at one time.  The frame paint on the bike is untouched and a lot of the components are also untouched - the stock seat is amazing. When I got the bike it was up against an outside wall and the right fork ear pitted a bit - again did not want to replace as these fork ears are stock. I put very large photos up of this bike please look it over I am not an expert restorer. not a professional as some claim to be - just an enthusiast with attention to detail. Pick up only.
